Burgers Advocaten
In 2007, while working at Stradius, I was asked to create an identity for Burgers Advocaten. Burgers Advocaten (Dutch for attorney at law) is headlined by Jan Burgers, a Dutch attorney at law who operates in the Caribbean, and mainly the Dutch Caribbean islands. His desire was to have a logo that was conform standards in his field, but at the same time set itself apart. To be colorful and show personality, and to show the Dutch roots of Burgers.
The concept was to create a text based logo, which is common practice in the field of law. In contrast to the industry standards, we opted for a colorful logo. Both to set Burgers apart from the competition, but also to communicate his lighthearted and personal approach. The blue color represents the vast Caribbean sea and the individual letters represent the islands, while orange is the Dutch national color.
